Meet La’Torria

Best known for her award-winning company, Lemon-Lime Light Media, and her admired philanthropy work, La’Torria Lemon is what some have described as a force in the entertainment, hospitality and PR industry. Kicking off her career in Public Relations at the tender age of 19 while attending Clark Atlanta University, La’Torria’s creativity, tenacity, ambition, and outgoing personality quickly led her to work on some of the most notable campaigns nationally. She has led teams for notable clients such as Proctor & Gamble, United Negro College Fund, All Star Weekend, Various Mega Churches, Essence Festival, and a plethora of other clients. Her ability to curate campaigns and provide strategic public relations has led her to be a 3x publicist of the year, Alumni of the year by Clark Atlanta University, Cirocs Women to Watch in Media, one of Texas’ Top Entrepreneurs of the year, Alpha Phi Alpha’s Woman of The Year, and a 40 Under 40 recipient just to name a few.
Lemon started in the entertainment industry at the age of three, where she performed in local stage plays, commercials, short films, and while in high school, was inducted into the National Honor Thespian Society and won the UIL competition for all district actress. At the age of 16 she became the youngest on-air radio personality in Houston as she served as the co-host and intern for Sports Wrap on KCOH with the legendary Ralph Cooper. While in college, she proceeded to continue her passion for radio by working at WSTU 98.1 radio and on the promotions team for Hot 107.9. She was eager to learn all aspects of media, so she applied for a position with a popular blog site which she was denied; however, the publicist for the blog reached out and offered her the chance of a lifetime to work with her company and their client, Essence Magazine. From there, she learned Public Relations and begin to, not only to pursue PR as a career, but switched her education path to Public Relations too.
She has worked on campaigns for Melissa McCarthy, Tyler Perry, John Singleton, Big Boi of Outkast, Mona Scott-Young, Jamie Foxx, David Banner, Isaiah Washington, Meagan Good, Jermain Dupri, Tami Roman, Warner Brothers, TNT, BET, OWN Network, VH1 and a plethora of TV Networks. Lemon-Lime Light Media has represented clients such as Leela James, Ashley Stewart Corporation, Travis Scott, LisaRaye McCoy, Slim Thug and BossLife Foundation, Beyonce, Kim Burrell, Earnest Pugh, D-Reck of Wreckshop Records, Chauncy Glover of The Chauncy Glover Project, Z-Ro, Urban One, Checkers, Higher Dimensions Church, Mrs. Georgia America, Keynote Peach Moscato, John Singleton, and a variety of national brands. Her work has been featured on national media outlets such as The Real, Wendy Williams Show, The Breakfast Klub, CNN, Essence Magazine, Ebony Magazine, Rolling Stone and more. In June 2020, she served as the official Publicist for Mr. George Floyd’s memorial and funeral services in Minnesota, North Carolina, and Houston. She was amongst 5 Houston influencers that were featured in a world-wide campaign for Nike’s H-Town show.
In 2024, La’Torria became the co-owner of Rain on Washington Lounge/ Restaurant in Houston.
In 2022, she received an Honorary Doctorate degree for her humanitarian work. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated where she has served as committee chair for the Public Relations Committee.
Her love for the community and celebrating other’s talents has inspired her to be the founder of Houston Step Fest where she produces step shows for the youth to teach them about HBCU campuses. She is also the founder for First Class Men of Houston Dinner where she celebrates men of Houston who are excelling in their careers, the community, and those who have inspiring stories. Her love for the youth also prompted her to start a mentoring organization by the name of “Let’s Talk, Teen Talk” where the youth can be themselves, learn life skills, and receive internships.

La’Torria’s goal is to live life by being an example and a vessel. She hopes to inspire those that she encounters and continue to help others live out their dreams.
